We bought a laptop right before we moved to Kodiak. The laptop has since died, or is at least on its last breath. The power adaptor only works if the cord is contorted at weird angles, and the battery only holds a charge for about 10 minutes. About a third of the keys have been removed from the keyboard by Cecelia. We've replaced the old laptop with a new computer, but several old files and photos need to be removed from the old computer. This weekend we downloaded all of our old photos from the laptop onto a CD.
The first photo is of our first Christmas tree in Kodiak. We bought the tree from the Kiwani's for about $60. Now on our fourth Christmas in Kodiak, we cut this year's tree (no cost) from a swampy area near my place of employment. It's only about two feet tall, but it has a lot more character than our first tree.
Photo #2 is of our cat Houdini. He is rarely seen; he spends the daylight hours hiding under furniture. I'm sometimes only vaguely aware of his existence by the clumps of cat hair and food he scatters throughout the house. Photo #3 is a sea lion living the good life in the Kodiak Channel.

I love the stretched out dogs in the top photo. Now that is happiness! Just hanging with the pack. Patrick
