Sleeping beauty

Cece asleep on our bed...peace at last. And accessories can really 'be' your outfit...per Cece.
69 days and 25% left till baby #2 arrives. Mike recovering fairly well from food poisoning Monday night and a late night trip to the ER. Jury duty for me on Tuesday...four hours + later I was free to leave and quite happy not to have been randomly picked. Time to get back to morning chores... -R

Mystery solved

Cece never seems to have matching socks...despite buying packs and packs of them from our local shopping mecca (Walmart). So on Wednesday night, Mike solved the age old question of where do all our matching socks disappear to. Down the suction hose of the washing machine. Can you see one of Cece's sock in Mike's left hand? Found after a few hours spent pulling apart the washing machine when it stopped working. -R

76 days and 29% left

That's how long (approximately) I have till we get to hold and greet the newest member of our family.
Pics include Cece after a romp in the front yard while I was mowing grass. She quickly eliminates all those pesky flowers from the yard. Hou, our cat, has made a home in my sock drawer. And finally, Cece being silly after eating blueberries- one of our favorite foods. -R

Hill-billy neighbors

Check out the 'junk-yard' dog on the old freezer! The fact that this dog closely resembles our own dog, Emma...may be a coincidence?
And did anyone else read about Victoria Beckham not faring well as a Paula Abdul fill-in on Am. Idol? My first thought was of course not, she's not Paula, and she (Victoria) doesn't sing anyway. Opps- how easily I forget! Wasn't she a member of 'Salt-n-Pepper' or some such group?? -R

Grandma Pfeffer's visit

Grandma Pfeffer and Mike's Aunt Joann came for a visit in late July. Cece had a great time, asking them to play, paint and chase her from the start of their visit. They left last Sunday to go spend a few days in Fairbanks. Despite having an amazingly sunny and warm summer in Kodiak, it was quite cool and rainy during their visit. Luckily they're both 'tough ol' broads' and fared well.
Mike, Cece and I went to Anchorage Sunday afternoon. Mike had to work and I went to go see/ meet our Ob doctor who will hopefully deliver our baby #2. As Cece was delivered via c-section (transverse positioning), we have to go to Anchorage to try a VBAC (vaginal delivery after c-section). All went well but caught a cold coming home. Uggg. Starting to feel a bit more human now and thought I'd try a small posting. Hope all our friends and family are doing well, -R
