Pigeons eat gravel?

Where'd they go?

Mike and Cecelia found a great spot to chase pigeons. There is a gravel parking lot in Kodiak behind the Baranof Museum downtown where a large flock of pigeons have found grit and gravel to eat. Pigeons eat this grit (small pieces of gravel) to help smash and then digest food in their stomachs. So last weekend after the Crab Fest dog show at the park, Mike and Cece showed me their pigeons. -R
