Omaha

On Tuesday afternoon (6/1/10), Mike, Cece, Sophie and I flew from Kodiak to Anchorage, Anchorage to Denver, Denver to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to Omaha. Sigh...it can definitely be challenging to leave the island and visit family. But so worth it. We'll be staying here till Monday, 6/7, then flying from Omaha to Minneapolis to DC and driving to PA to visit more family.
In Omaha, we've had a great time catching up with family and introducing them to our little Sophie. We've gone to an indoor water park, the fab Omaha Zoo, went to a quant Persian restaurant (YUMMM!), made scallop seviche, walked around the Omaha downtown marketplace, played at Uncle Ed's house, and had lunch at a Whole Foods store. Ohhh...and went out for ice cream 2x. All in 2 1/2 days. Our events coordinator has been Mike's beautiful niece Chandra. Cece has decided- almost immediately- that Chandra is her new best bud and would like her to come home with us. At age 10, she is incredibly kind, sweet, observant (especially to the needs of her younger cousins and brother, Eddie), caring and fun. She has been a wonderfull highlight for our family trip and we'll most certainly miss her when we leave.
Pics are from our visit to the Omaha Zoo. -R

Thanks for posting photos Rox :)
You guys look like you're having a great time!!! And how cool having an events organizer....ask her if she'd like a job running my life :)
Is the giant black sphere one of those perfectly balanced fountains that are actually able to rotate and can be stopped with the hand?
I'm so glad you guys are having such a great time!!!
Love you and be safe - Rosella
