Mike, Cece, Sophie and I welcomed the New Year with a few firecrackers, sleep and peanut M & M's (Mike lit off a few firecrackers, Cece enjoyed the peanut M & M's...all while Sophie slept in the backseat of the truck). All in all it was a good welcoming for 2010.This weekend was fairly busy for our little household-- Sophie has been hard at work mastering head control, cooing and standing (with assist). Cece has been successful at toilet training with the help of continuous bribery (a prize bucket which holds beautiful plastic jewelry, gummy Scoobby snacks, stickers and chocolate kisses...the kisses have been most effective by far). Mike was busy working on the kitchen floor (Saturday) and moving the kitchen plumbing in preparation for our new island and book shelf...so the poor guy spent half of today under the house. We all enjoyed dinner at friend's yesterday...duck wrapped in bacon with some jalapeno peppers and fried pheasant. Yummmm. For myself, I made a great gluten free pizza today that was the best GF crust I've EVER had though quite labor intensive (Mom, we'll have to make it in June on our visit.) -R
