Last night, Cecelia, Mike and I had dinner at the Old Powerhouse restaurant with friends and family. It was to say good-bye to our co-worker Felix (who is a PT and worked with me at the hospital/ outpt clinic) and his wife Mary (who worked at KANA with Mike). They were in Kodiak for about 9 months and will be missed. Kodiak has some spectacular scenery, amazing fishing, benefits of a small rural town. But for some the weather, drawbacks of small town life, and the distance from friends and family down below is too much.
And while every locale has negatives, Mike and I have found a wonderful home- with the 5 minute commutes to work, fab fishing and hunting, breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains, low crime, glimpses of wildlife, great friends/ fascinating people to meet here,... Mike and I feel blessed to be here.
In the pics above, Felix is directly above Zoya with Mary to the right of him and the last pic is of Cecelia enjoying an apple after dinner.
-Love to all our friends and family, R
