Friday night

Relaxing tonight after a short but very long week. Why is it that the work week after a long weekend is always longer than a regular 5 day work week?
Cece and I enjoyed net surfing earlier...her favorite hits were the intro video to "Little Mermaid: Ariel's beginning DVD" and the newer theme song for the Discovery channel. She's a little under the weather (runny nose, watery eyes, fussy) so it was nice just to sit and cuddle while watching/ listening to the net.
Earlier we ventured out for dinner (Henry's)...the first time in months. Cece did well, only wanted to sit on my lap but ate well without too much fuss or mess. Was nice to go out and not have to fix dinner at home. We all enjoyed their Friday night special of Prime Rib.
Mike is watching Psycho on TV (the remake with Heche). Ugggg...creepy in a tacky sort of way. Which makes me think of recent political happenings...I'm still mulling over the VP nomination of Palin. And the more I think of it, I have to give coudous to McCain. What a brilliant way to shake up the race and help give the republican party the limelight and a little 'glamour'. And while I have personal opinions on whether or not a woman with 5 kids and a dubious political background (what's the latest about the librarian in Wasilla??) should run as VP, I have to wonder if it is that much different or even more-involved than being a Governor? I certainly need to brush up on social studies but what more than "window dressing" does the VP actually do? Palin most certainly does more now as Governor than she would as VP.? And while there is a chance that the VP would have to step-in as President, what are the odds? Hmmm. One thing is for sure, I can't wait for the VP debates! -R

Hope your whole family is feeling better. What a blessing to be able to sit and cuddle with your child. This is what memories are made of.
