And did anyone else read about Victoria Beckham not faring well as a Paula Abdul fill-in on Am. Idol? My first thought was of course not, she's not Paula, and she (Victoria) doesn't sing anyway. Opps- how easily I forget! Wasn't she a member of 'Salt-n-Pepper' or some such group?? -R

Grandma Pfeffer's visit
Mike, Cece and I went to Anchorage Sunday afternoon. Mike had to work and I went to go see/ meet our Ob doctor who will hopefully deliver our baby #2. As Cece was delivered via c-section (transverse positioning), we have to go to Anchorage to try a VBAC (vaginal delivery after c-section). All went well but caught a cold coming home. Uggg. Starting to feel a bit more human now and thought I'd try a small posting. Hope all our friends and family are doing well, -R

Flawed men
Today I read three disturbing stories about rotten men- men who I never want my daughter to encounter, men who should be ashamed of themselves and crawl back into their holes from Hell.
Specimen #1:

Jon Gosselin...dating the 22 year-old daughter of his ex-wife's plastic surgeon less than a month after filing for divorce. 10 years of marriage and 8 kids...he's off partying and his ex-wife is home with the kids. His name should be in the Webster's dictionary under "Schmuck".
Specimen #2:
Richard Jefferson, NBA star, cancelled his wedding 2 hours before the ceremony but forgot to tell the majority of his invited guests (yet his fiancee was able to notify her guests). And for all the guests whose time and money were wasted in coming to his wedding, Jefferson had to cough up his credit card to entertain them. Karma? Specimen#3:
Hugh Hefner reports that is he able to tell his twin, almost-underage girlfriends apart by a certain distinguishing mole. This certainly spells out a lasting, meaningful relationship to me. Ha! What a dirty old man and two foolish young women who are truly wasting their time.Luckily I know there are still good guys around: my dad (before he passed), my step-father, Mike, Patrick, Bill M., Ryan, etc. Cheers to the Good Guys! -R

Hello July 2009

Kodiak has enjoyed beautiful weather this month...sunny skies, warm breezes, and temps in the 60's and 70's. This is not a typical summer in Kodiak but we're sure enjoying it while it lasts.
Cece is now almost 29 months old and loves painting, watermelon, dancing and taking showers. Such a fun yet challenging age.
Mike has been fishing1-2x/ week (not enough- per Mike) but he's been able to bring salmon, king salmon, halibut and ling cod home. Yesterday he asked me to take some venison out of the freezer...to finish it up as it would be deer season soon. Hmmmm
I'm now at 24 weeks into the pregnancy. Still having many highs and lows...not feeling great but really starting to enjoy the bigs kicks and punchs of our little bambino. In August, we're all going up to Anchorage to meet our OB doctor. Unfortunately I won't be able to deliver vaginally in Kodiak due to the previous c-section so we need to get a doctor in Anchorage and move up there a few weeks before our due date.
Mike's Mom and Aunt will be coming to Kodiak for a visit next week. Hopefully this weather will last and they'll have a great visit.
Love to all our friends and family, -R

June update of our little family

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and looks like we're going to be welcoming a baby girl to our family unit...sometime around November 2nd. Mike's first or maybe second thought was 'yeah...we won't have to make to the circumcision decision'.
Cece is doing well- full of equal parts joy, independence, and vigor. Mike and a few friends had great luck fishing last weekend- see pics of halibut. The two big ones are hanging up (both ~135#) and a few chicks. The large halibuts were given away to friends and Mike and Preston kept the chicks. -R

Good news

So I've been a bit under the weather recently...but just some normal symptoms from early pregnancy. Ugggg...but starting to have a few 'better' days. Due date is roughly predicted for early-mid November but we have an ultrasound scheduled for next Tuesday to help confirm the date. Please keep us all in your prayers -R Pics: Last night, Cece silly and Mike eating fresh king crab and elk. Not sure who was happier.
